"The Youth Red Cross" is the most important constituent of its mother organization,Indian Red Cross.It is a group movement organized at the intial stages for sutdents between 18 and 25 years of age within the colleges.A qualified lecturer is recognized as the leader and he is called the Programme Officer under his guidance , the students are trained and encouraged to manage the affairs of the group,electing their own office-Bearers.
Main Objectives of YRC
The main purpose of organizing the Youth Red Cross is
- To inculate in the youth of our country
- an awareness on the care of their own health and that of others
- the understanding and acceptance of civic responsibilities and acting accordingly with humanitarian concern,to fulfill the same.
- To enable the growth and developement of a spirit of service and sense of duty with dedication and devotion in the minds of youth.
- To foster better friendly relationship with all without any discrimintation
Principles of YRC
Youth Red Cross has the following three principles
- Protection of health and life.
- Service to the sick and suffering
- Promotion of National and International friendship

Activites for the year 2019-20
YRC was inaugurated by Inauguration:Ln.K.Jayarama Acharya, Co-ordinator, Youth Red Cross Unit, Udupi District on 28-08-2019
Program On Prevention of Dengue Organized By:District Panchayat,Udupi, Health and Family Welfare Department, Udupi at Lions Bhavan,Brahmagiri, Udupi on 26-07-2019.
Fit India Movement was organized in college campus on 29-08-2019
State Level SERV Volunteers Training Program Organized by: Red Cross Society, Udupi Branch. Samana and Spoorty YRC Volunteers,PPC,Udupi were participated in it on 28th and 29th September,2019
First Aid Training Programme Organized on 07-09-2019. The Resource Person was Dr.K.Suresh Shenoy,Orthopaedic Surgeon,AMCARE, Udupi and Chief Guest was Sri Pradeep Kumar,Hon.Treasurer,PCMC,Udupi.
National Youth Day was Organized by District Administration, Udupi on the eve of Birthday of Greate Indian Saint Swami Vivekananda on 12-01-2020

Life skill aptitude test on Red Cross held on 28/01/2022 to create the awareness and responsible on red cross services.
Covid 19-Vaccination drive for below 18 years conducted on 19/01/22 in collaboration with District Hospital, Udupi
Covid-19 Swab test to students to take the safety precautions and follow the Covid-19 safety measures
Cancer Awareness or Screening Programme held on 11/03/2022, Dr. Keerthi Palan, Certified Medical Trainer, Certified Medical trainer, Indian Red Cross Society Udupi invited as Resource Person.
