The Online Workshop on Astronomy and Cosmology was conducted by PAAC and Physics Department on 18th and 19th June 2020.

A Two Day National-Level workshop on Astronomy & Comology was organized through Poornaprajna College. The department of Physics of the College, along with Poornaprajna Amateur Astronomers’ Club in association with the Internal quality assurance cell of the college organized this workshop for the Students and Teachers of Physics on 18^th and 19^th June 2020. The workshop was planned with four sessions in total with eminent speakers in the field of Astronomy and Cosmology and the resource persons from college.
The workshop consisted of 3 sessions beginning with two sessions on 18^th June 2020 with the blessings of H.H. Sri Vishwapriya Theertha Swamiji, President, Udupi Sri Admar Mutt Education Council who inaugurated the webinar and spoke on the occasion about astronomy in Ancient India and how Indian minds have been curious about various astronomical phenomena and measurements since ages. With his inaugural speech, the sessions by Prof. Shankar and Mr. Madhusudhan were conducted on 18^th June 2020 between 10am to 1.30pm. Session 3 was conducted by Mr. Atul Bhat on 19^th June at 10:30am.

A total of 321 Students & teachers from all across the country registered for this workshop with registrations coming in from Jammu Kashmir, Assam and Sikkim along with several other states.

Mr. Atul Bhat from the department hosted the sessions and Mrs. Prathibha C Acharya delivered the vote of thanks.

The sessions were followed by interaction sessions and e-certificates will be provided to all participants that attended all the sessions.
